Greens say go on council renewable energy opportunity

A Green Party motion to the September Ist Sheffield council meeting will urge the council to act quickly to take advan tage of relaxed rules on renewable energy generation. From August 18th councils are allowed to sell all their excess renewable energy electricity back to the grid after previous restrictions were removed.

Green group leader Jillian Creasy comments : “A major renewable energy barrier has been removed and our motion urges quick action by the administration to take advantage of this opportunity.. We are asking for a costed plan within 3 months so that there are rapid benefits for Sheffield citizens. It could be worth £1 million or more to Sheffield – the more we invest, the more we could get back.

“Every Green Party budget amendment since we were first represented on Sheffield City Council has included proposals for investment in energy saving and renewable energy production. Even before the new Feed-in Tariff arrangements, such investments would have saved money for the council and citizens, created local jobs and contributed to carbon reduction. The financial case for saving and generating renewable energy is now even stronger and the council needs to act now. This motion deserves cross party support. ” ENDS

Yes…BUT….how do the (Sheffield) Green Party get across to the sad, rather pathetic numbties, the likes of who spend time on the comments section of sheffield star articles/letters who GENERALLY appear to believe that global warming and climate change is NOT actually real and therefore NOTHING needs done?
Presumably, in their eyes…and those of the councillors that DON’T agree with the Green’s policies here….Pakistan, Nigeria and China are NOT really in flood….New Zealands earthquake did NOT just happen and the chunk of ice dropped off Greenland the size of Belgium is of no importance at all….in relation, perhaps to England vs Switzerland in the Euro qualifiers….football, naturally!…what else is there?!

In other words…what is the point of the tree-hugger greens wittering on about their lentils…when, in Sheffield, at least…it’s not going to happen to us?….and if it does…then it will clearly be the FAULT of Gordon Brown, Nick Clegg, David Cameron…….the referee of the Switzerland vs England match….NOT to mention the Council of course….which is responsible for absolutely ANYTHING and everything that ever goes wrong in Sheffield.

Why waste your time Greens,eh?

These numbties are people too, aren’t they? Pathetic people, maybe…but people nevertheless.

NOT in my back yard. NOT…in my name.
