Danny Dorling to speak at Green AGM this Wednesday (December 12th)

Danny Dorling, Professor of Human Geography at the University of Sheffield and speaker at Sheffield Green Party’s AGM

Professor Danny Dorling will be the guest speaker at the Sheffield & Rotherham Green Party AGM on Wednesday December 12th.

He will speak on “Can the planet support 10 billion people ?” – the subject of his forthcoming book “Population 10 billion (the coming demographic crisis and how to survive it) “. He will then take questions on this subject and all aspects of his work.

Danny Dorling is Professor of Human Geography at the University of Sheffield. He has been described as “geographer royal by appointment to the left” and in April 2010 received the ultimate Guardian accolade when he featured in their occasional  “In Praise of” column (http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2010/apr/30/in-praise-of-danny-dorling).
His books include “The No Nonsense Guide to Equality” and “So you think you know about Britain”. More information about Danny and his work at www.dannydorling.org – he’s an engaging speaker with the statistics to back his arguments.
The meeting will be at 7pm for 7.15pm in the Hall at St Mary’s Church and Conference Centre, Bramall Lane, Sheffield, S2 4QZ. The venue is accessible and refreshments will be served.
Anyone interested is welcome to attend this meeting and any of our monthly meetings on the second Wednesday of the month – usually at St Mary’s.
