20’s Plenty – safer for children

Sheffield City Council has unveiled its new 20mph zones for Upperthorpe, Steel Bank (Walkley), Low Edges, Charnock, Woodthorpe, Spink Hall and Parson Cross.

Leaflets and maps are now available on www.sheffield.gov.uk. The public is invited to comment on the schemes before 7th June 2013 and it is hoped the zones will become safer areas for people to live in by the Autumn.

Green Party member and Upperthorpe resident Bernard Little, said,

The 20mph Zone in Upperthorpe is a very useful in slowing traffic in a busy local community. It is a small but important way of saying we want our community back so Upperthorpe is more people centred.

Campaign Group 20’s Plenty are holding a meeting on 6th June – see here for details.
