Hiroshima and Nagasaki Day. Peace Picnic with Bruce Kent and Roy Bailey

CND will commemorate Hiroshima Day on Aug 6th from 10-00 am with a presence
outside the Town Hall. The Lord Mayor will attend at 11am and sign the
Mayors for Peace Declaration and a message will be read from the Mayor of
Hiroshima

On the 11th August we will commemorate Nagasaki Day with our annual picnic
detailed below.

On Sunday 11 August 2pm – 5pm

in the Japanese Garden

in remembrance of the victims of the explosion of atom bombs over Hiroshima
and Nagasaki in 1945.

A message from the Mayor of Nagasaki will be read out

Music from famous local folk singer, Roy Bailey

and poetry reading

Bring a picnic and something to share

Make some paper cranes

The nearest entrance for the Walled Garden is in Brook Road, Meersbrook.

Buses: 53 from Pond Street, 20, 20A, 25, 25A from the Peace Gardens to
Beeton Road/Chesterfield Road.
