To round off the first concerted student campaign we have run, Sheffield Young Greens held a week of action before the close of voter registration. Supplied with new badges, coasters and leaflets from the national party office, Broomhill has been the centre of activity with lots of door knocking and leafleting around the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam Collegiate campuses.
Alongside engaging with students, the Broomhill ward team has moved into full election swing. A fantastic team of canvassers is out most nights persuading Sheffield Central voters to make history by making Jillian the first Green MP in the North of England. And, hopefully, elect Aodan Marken as a Councillor as well. An even larger team of about 20 regular leafleters are ensuring that the stream of newsletters, newspapers, leaflets and personal letters are reaching every household.
This is the largest constituency campaign we’ve ever run and it will be our most successful. This May we can switch from grey to Green, make history and move into the forefront of Sheffield and British politics. If you have been thinking of getting involved in our campaign, now is the time to.
