Green candidate speaks to audiences across Sheffield

Former Green Party leader and Sheffield Central Parliamentary candidate Natalie Bennett will be holding three public meetings across Sheffield to discuss how Green policies can address our current economic, social and environmental crises.

Natalie will be speaking at Nether Edge Bowling Club on January 31, at Zest Walkley on February 13 and at the Victoria Centre in Manor Castle on March 13, all beginning at 7pm.

Natalie said: “I am greatly looking forward to meeting with Sheffield residents and talking to them about how Green ideas can help tackle the many challenges we face. I will be discussing why Sheffield needs a real living wage, the exciting developments around the world in universal basic income, the need to build a strong, large, community-owned renewable energy sector, and schools that prepare pupils for life, not exams.

“And of course Brexit is likely to be a major focus of discussions. It is critically important that Theresa May isn’t given a blank cheque in invoking Article 50 with plans to inflict a ‘hard’ Brexit on Britain.

“In post-Brexit Britain, we need to keep the possibilities of easily studying, working, living and visiting Europe for everyone, but particularly our young people. We must also maintain the workers’ rights, environmental protections and consumer safety provisions currently covered by EU rules.”
