I have been a member of the Green Party for 18 years and has previously stood in both Local and General Elections. I was born in Sheffield and come back to live here 8 years ago. I work for the Peak District National Park as an Education Visits Leader and also give talks and workshops to groups in Sheffield about climate change and what we can do about it.
Our local communities are under threat as the closure of local shops and Post Offices forces people into cars to travel miles to supermarkets, worsening jams on our gridlocked roads. I am very concerned about the threat to our bus services as First Group continue to cut services with profit their only concern. Frequent, affordable bus services are vital in this area, particularly for the elderly and disabled. The Green Party is leading the campaign to get Sheffield’s bus services back into council control and to protect our local communities.
