Liam Hardy is the Green Party candidate for Woodhouse ward in the local elections on May 5th 2022.

I have lived in Sheffield since 2008, and have been involved in local and Green politics since 2015. I briefly taught physics at the University of Sheffield, and now I work for a Sheffield-based charity as well as an international online school for climate change action. I am a regular cyclist, and runner.

As we emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic, it’s imperative that we turn our minds to the climate and ecology emergency. Everyone has a part to play, from the city council to local community groups, schools, and workplaces. Our green city is well-placed to lead the way through a just transition to a cleaner economy.

The Green council budget proposals for 2022/23 offered a manifesto for council action to address the climate emergency.
