Dan is a lobbyist and campaigner for animal welfare who was elected to Stocksbridge Town Council in May 2007.

Winner of a prestigious UK Political Studies Association award for the best thesis of 2007 for his research into the weakness of Britain’s animal testing regulations.  He is an Honorary Research fellow at Sheffield University’s Politics Department and works with his partner Angela.

Cuts to vital public services, benefits and pensions are not needed if the government:

• Gets more people into work

• Cuts Trident nuclear missiles

• Taxes the money markets

• Taxes bank profits and cuts bonuses

Greens say create 1 million new jobs by investing in renewable energy, public transport and housing. Scrap tuition fees and reinstate the Educational Maintenance Allowance.
