External event - Free Palestine rally
18th November 2023 11:30 am - 12:30 pm
Mount Pleasant Park, Abbeydale Rd, Nether Edge, Sheffield S7 1BY, UK
Assemble at 11.30 am in Mount Pleasant Park, Abbeydale Rd, Sheffield S7 1BY.
MPs will have had their vote on the King's Speech on Wednesday -- will they vote for Ceasefire?
If they do - thousands have lost their lives, families have been shattered and immeasurable devastation inflicted on Gaza. If they don't call for a ceasefire - words will be inadequate to describe their moral and political failure at this defining moment. Join us as we march for Palestine!

SADACCA (Sheffield And District African Caribbean Community Association), 48 Wicker, Sheffield S3 8JB, UK
Come along to the SADACCA building (Sheffield & District African Caribbean Community Association) for a poetry, song, film and music event, marking Windrush 75!
Poetry commission, Who We Were; Who We Became, is a love song threading together the memories, faith and culture of the Windrush generation. It captures their final moments before embarking on a journey in pursuit of a new life.
Danae Wellington and Darshan Gajjar have also made a short poetic film around the piece that forms a window into the Caribbean immigrant story.
It details the musical riddims and the joy-making that helped newly arrived West Indians survive brutal racial violence and discrimination in post-war Britain.
Danae Wellington is a Jamaican-British poet and the Sheffield Poet Laureate. Supported by Arts Council England.
