A vote for a Green Party councillor is a vote for:
● A COUNCILLOR THAT LISTENS
– listening to people; getting their voices heard on local and global issues
– learning from the Street Tree Inquiry and Race Equality Commission
– listening to young people and supporting the organisations they trust
– removing barriers, so everyone is heard fairly
● A HEALTHIER, CARING CITY
– person-centred care with joined-up services and better working conditions for carers
– more funding for advice services and hardship support for people who need it
– supporting people seeking sanctuary and being an anti-racist city – more support for homeless people and local charities that help them
● JOBS IN A LOCAL ECONOMY

– training young people for jobs for the future, like in renewable energy and home insulation
– a living wage to fight poverty and the cost of living, not zero hours contracts – protecting our heritage, working with local groups to promote the city’s regeneration and culture – supporting independent businesses keeping money in the local economy, not multinationals
● DECENT HOMES & NEIGHBOURHOODS
– investment in sustainable, warm and healthy housing to reduce energy use and bills – more social housing and getting empty homes back into use – balancing the night-time economy with residents’ needs – better recycling options – safe, welcoming neighbourhoods with community green spaces and places to play
● BETTER PUBLIC TRANSPORT & SAFER STREETS

– more reliable buses and trams so people can choose to leave their cars at home – investment in safer, more attractive routes for walking and cycling – making streets around schools safer for children – free buses & trams before Christmas every year – secure storage for bikes in residential areas
● REAL ACTION ON THE CLIMATE & NATURE EMERGENCIES
– solar panels on all new buildings and car parks
– managing land in a joined-up way to increase biodiversity and encourage nature recovery
– increasing natural flood management and accelerating Council action on tackling the climate crisis
