KICA meeting 4 July 18
Kelham Island Community Alliance, 4 July 18

After a gruelling and hot full council meeting, all three City Ward councillors attended the KICA meeting on Wednesday 4th July.

The meeting was held in the chilled-out setting of Urban Social – so decent refreshments were on tap.

The meeting looked at ideas for plans in the area and how it could be cleaned and greened.  Seonyeong, a  postgraduate university student, showed the results of her survey carried out at the recent Ball St Deli event on what people wanted in the area.

The meeting also looked at the area of the proposed neighbourhood plan and councillors updated the residents on the very slow process of getting the CIL (community infrastructure levy) to spend. This is the money that has been paid by developers since 2015 to improve the local area.

After the meeting, the councillors spent time talking to residents and inspecting the sort of things councillors look at: bins, drains, car parks, chimneys, pavements and public art before ending up at the Kelham Wine Bar.
