Lynsey Angel is running to transform Sheffield into a fairer, greener place to live and work. Read our Green manifesto.

Dear Neighbour,
My name is Lynsey Angell, I’m a 52-year-old carer, and I’ve lived on Washington Road for 20 years. Now, I’m proud to be standing for election in the 7th May council elections. I know this area well.
Nether Edge and Sharrow Greens are:
Acting for our area
Cllr Maroof Raouf and I work as a team to improve your life, as residents of Nether Edge and Sharrow. As a tenant of Lansdowne, I’ve been working with councillors and Lansdowne Alliance 4 Better Homes to improve the local playground and start a tenants’ union. I’ve also led two litterpicking teams for the last year – one in Lansdowne and another in Highfield/Lowfield. We go out weekly to ensure we can all take pride in our local area.
Standing up for our community
In the campaign against McDonald’s, we stood up together for our community and the people of Gaza. I organised two protests, hundreds of you objected, and the application was rejected twice.
Bringing hope back to Sheffield
Across the country, the Green Party is growing as more people respond to Zack Polanski’s vision of bringing hope back into politics. Hope means moving away from empty promises and managed decline, and towards a politics rooted in integrity, compassion, and action.
As a candidate in Sheffield, I aim to translate that national vision into local results. That means standing up for our communities, protecting public services, creating secure green jobs, and ensuring everyone has access to decent housing, clean air, and a strong local economy. Sheffield deserves a future shaped by the people who live here, and together, we can build it.
