Tom Atkin-Withers is running to transform Sheffield into a fairer, greener place to live and work. Read our Green manifesto.

Dear Neighbour,

I’m Tom Atkin-Withers, a local resident just like you, and your Green Party candidate for Graves Park in the upcoming 7th May local elections.

I’m a charity trustee working with young people, and through that work I see first-hand the challenges facing families in our area. I’m also an active member of the Graves Park community. On the doorstep, I hear frustration about poor and inaccessible public transport, and despair that people aren’t being listened to.

I actively stand up for Graves Park.

Over the last year, driven by concerns raised by local people, I have worked with Green councillors to push for better transport links between Graves Park and Chesterfield Hospital and secured repairs to damaged bus stops. I have also helped secure the resurfacing of the new crossing by Meadowhead School after a resident was injured, and launched a petition to get Osmaston Road adopted by the council and resurfaced.

Unlike other parties, Greens drive change.

While Labour and the Liberal Democrats keep things the same, the Greens focus on practical action: Climate Bonds funding solar panels on school roofs, protecting our environment, and fighting for better-funded public transport.

I can win here and bring hope back to Sheffield. The neighbouring wards of Ecclesall, Gleadless Valley and Nether Edge & Sharrow already have Green councillors, and more people are backing a hopeful, honest alternative to politics.

As your councillor, my priority would be simple: delivering results. Standing up for our communities, protecting public services, creating green jobs, and making sure everyone has access to decent housing, clean air, and a strong local economy.

Sheffield’s future should be shaped by the people who live here.

Together, we can build it.

Best wishes,

Tom Atkin-Withers
