Alexi Dimond is the Green Party candidate for Gleadless Valley Ward in the local elections on May 2nd 2024.
Alexi is seeking re-election to continue working with the current Green councillors Paul Turpin and Marieanne Elliot who have an established reputation for working hard on behalf of local residents.
It has been a great privilege to represent this ward for the last three years, and I am very keen to continue working to support residents and improve our environment.
Positive impacts I have made in the ward include securing CCTV for the Callow tower blocks, supporting residents with housing issues such as repairs and rehousing, getting potholes filled and fly-tipping collected, helping with the cost of living crisis, supporting community groups, events and youth groups, campaigning for safer streets, and better public transport and active travel.
I have also pushed for changes that make a difference for everyone in the city. As Green Party spokesperson on my committee, I have secured improvements to parking enforcement, drove a commitment to promote home and community composting, and supported disability campaigners to ensure signage remains on taxis.
At Full Council, I moved successful motions calling for a ceasefire in Gaza – the first in the UK – and reaffirming Sheffield as a City of Sanctuary. I have campaigned for action on the climate crisis and inequality, more help with the cost of living, and better public services and transport.
As your representative, I will always speak-out for what is right and demand better for Gleadless Valley and Sheffield.
I hope to be reelected to represent Gleadless Valley in the Town Hall to continue pushing for urgent action on the climate and nature emergencies and for social justice.
Please contact me if you have any enquiries about my candidacy or if you would like to display a poster in support of my campaign.
