Walkley Election Leaflet 2016Three candidates have been selected for the local election in Walkley in May 2016. They are Sue Morton, Chris McMahon and Liam Hardy.

Boundary changes mean there have been slight changes to this ward.  To see which ward you live in check the detailed map here. Due to city-wide boundary changes, the local council elections in May 2016 will see every seat up for grabs. This means you’ll have three votes to elect all three of your local councillors.

Last time this happened (in 2004), Central Ward elected their first Green councillor. The Green group has grown to 4 councillors, and in 2016 we hope to elect many more.
In Walkley we’ve been fighting the sale of the Walkley Carnegie Library building to the private sector – a decision that was rushed through by the bloated majority of the Labour council. We’ve also been consulting with residents about the expansion of the Tramlines festival into the Ponderosa, and the effect this has had on local residents.Stay up to date with our work via the Walkley Greens Facebook page  or contact
