Sheffield Green Party welcomes the recent report by No Stump City (pdf) that describes profits from the massive £2.2 billion Streets Ahead project being siphoned off to companies who do not pay tax in the UK.

Sheffield Greens have always opposed PFIs (private finance initiative deals) as they are very bad deals for the taxpayers.[1]

Graham Wroe, of Sheffield Green Party, comments,

“The Streets Ahead PFI contract is not only bad for Sheffield, it is also bad for the nation, as the Government are not getting the tax revenue they should from it. If Greens were running the council, we would do our best to bring the contract back in house.”
