We are delighted to announce that Andy Davies is the Green candidate for the by-election.
Andy lives locally in Oughtibridge. He is passionate, hard-working and energetic – committed to helping communities, pushing for better public services and tackling the cost of living crisis.
Andy is a Countryside Management expert who helps people to enhance their outdoor spaces for biodiversity – so that nature can thrive.
He supports the work of the Upper Don Trail Trust and their long term project to create a beautiful riverside route from Sheffield city centre to Stocksbridge and the Peak District National Park. Andy also supports an investigation into decision-making and spending on the £24 million Stocksbridge Town Deal to improve transparency and accountability. Greens on the council have publicly called for this.
A vote for Andy is a vote for hope and honesty, and someone who really knows this area because this is his local area too.
Andy said;
“I’m passionate about the area I live in – we have amazing communities here and if elected I would be a dedicated and active councillor. I know that public trust in politics is low and many promises are made about how things will be done differently. Words alone are not enough – our elected representatives need to turn up to meetings, they need to use their votes and they need to be honest.”
Green councillors take their responsibilities seriously – putting honesty and integrity first!
Sheffield Greens are proud to select Andy Davies to stand in Stocksbridge and Upper Don Ward to give people the chance to choose a hard-working local Green candidate and vote for hope, not hate!
