Dan Moy has been selected to contest the Southey by-election for the Greens. He says
“I moved to Sheffield from an area very much like this, and I fell in love with the place; so much that I never want to leave.
I’ve been talking to people here in Southey who have all said the same thing – we’ve been left behind.
Lots of people here worry that there’s nothing for young people to do. I will campaign for positive spaces and opportunities for young people.”
“With the Greens, you get a positive vision for the community.
We want to bring back community centres, and support local businesses over multinational corporations to give people in Sheffield a future they can believe in.”
“I believe that communities like Southey are stronger when we work together.”
We need your help
Sheffield Green Party are tackling Reform head-on in the Southey Ward by-election, and we need your help.
This is our first time running a campaign in Southey, and it’s important for two reasons:
– Southey is one of the wards in Brightside and Hillsborough, where we hope to win a seat at the next general election. Building support in Southey is essential.
– We need to learn how to take Reform on, and a single-ward by-election is the perfect opportunity to test our operation.
But all unexpected by-elections are unexpected expenses. We fought our largest ever election campaign in the city-wide local elections just two months ago, and we’re still rebuilding our coffers.
Support the Campaign
To be able to take on Reform, we need your support – so please contribute what you can. If you can’t give money, please consider volunteering your time for the campaign or sharing this Crowdfunder with your friends.
