Last weekend Ecclesall Greens hosted a Nature Day in Endcliffe Park. It was all about making space and caring for nature. There were many activities, including face painting, making bug hotels, a botany walk, bark rubbing, conker rockets and more! We wanted to help pollinators, especially moths, so special packets of wildflower seeds were given out along with guides to creating a wildflower patch.
Our Green councillors Peter Gilbert and Tessa Lupton were there, meeting many marvellous people and talking about nature. The next nature event in the park is a community wildflower planting on Tuesday 27th October 2026, 1-2pm in Endcliffe Park, at the main Rustlings Road entrance.
We supported various campaigns, including
Sheffield Swift Network https://sheffieldswiftnetwork.org
The Yorkshire Wildlife Trust Rivers to Reef campaign inspired the chalking

And we collected for Food Communities Trust, recognising the impact of the climate crisis on food prices.

It was a great success, and we’ll be doing the event again. See you at the next one
